VIRTU-PEACE

About the Project

Our goal is to empower Palestinian youth to become active agents of change and contribute to building a more peaceful future.

The "Virtual Interactive Exchange for Promoting Unity in Palestine" (VIRTU-PEACE) project is an interactive, cross-border, online educational experience focused on a core Palestinian issue: building avenues for cooperation to achieve Palestinian unity. Through this virtual exchange, Palestinian participants from diverse geographic locations and cultural identities will learn with and from one another by engaging in dialogue, skill-building activities, and participation in an impactful collective project.

Virtu-Peace is a pioneering project that leverages the power of virtual exchange to foster reconciliation and peacebuilding among Palestinians. The project will connect 1,500 Palestinian youth from diverse backgrounds, including youth from the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, '48 Palestinians (Arab citizens of Israel), and the Diaspora, facilitating structured online dialogues. These virtual exchanges will create safe spaces for participants to engage in constructive conversations on crucial topics such as Palestinian reconciliation, identity, and inner peacebuilding.

Participants will develop essential skills in critical thinking, media literacy, digital communication, and collaboration. To ensure the quality and impact of these exchanges, Virtu-Peace will train 1,000 facilitators to effectively guide the dialogues. The project will also provide valuable research and knowledge on the use of virtual exchange in reconciliation processes, thereby contributing to the broader fields of peacebuilding and education.

By empowering Palestinian youth and civil society, the Virtu-Peace project aims to contribute to the construction of a more peaceful, inclusive, and democratic Palestinian society.
